Not still graphics, but moving graphics. The Third & The Seventh is a film constructed with photo-real motion graphics. Absolutely stunning with high quality. Really nothing much I can say, enjoy.

iPad

This has to be THE technology of the week. Apple has released their tablet computer, the iPad. The appearance is similar to an iPhone, with a home button, volume control on the side, dock connector on the bottom etc. I will also say it is an “enlarged” version of iPhone. Looks really amazing, amazingly thin, amazingly think black edge.. dunno what that’s for, amazing without a camera, amazingly low price, amazing graphics.. I can go on for another day. Wonderful for gaming and reading ebooks on Apple’s new app – iBooks, works with the iBooks Store. Apple, has also remade iWork (Pages, Keynote and Numbers) specially for iPad, able to create and read documents. It seems that apple has chose to base the iPad on the iPhone OS rather than snow leopard. For more, go check out the Keynote on Apple. Tio – Energy saving light switch

Nice thing to have. Start building up your kids’ environmental sense from a small age by using the energy saving light switch. The light switch itself change colour after 4 hours of usage from green to orange. Then orange to red when the switch is on for over 8 hours. Information from the light switch can be sent to the computer the kid and their parents can keep track of the energy saving performance. Definitely a worth-mentioning technology piece. It’s the 20th anniversary for the Reebok PUMP technology. Started in 1989/90, the Pump was a pair of basketball shoes. It was phenomenal just by the fact that it allows users to inflate the tongue of the shoe, enabling a tighter and more customized fit. Later on becoming a pair shoes for tennis, and general exercise. In 1994, Reebok launched the Instapump fury, for running purpose. A pair of lace-less shoes using purely the inflatable tongue to keep the athletes’ foot inlace. Signalnosie for Haiti – Graphics for a cause.

The republic of Haiti was hit with a magnitude 7.0 earthquake on Tuesday, January 12th. Most of the necessities of life, such as food, shelter and water have been reduced to near nothing and the poor country is now struggling with rescue efforts and the dispersal of much-needed supplies and aid. They have very little to work with.
For the next week, artists like Chuck Anderson are donating all money they make from selling their wares to the disaster relief fund to help Haiti, and Signalnoise will be doing the same. 100% of sales from the Signalnoise Store for the next week will be donated directly in support of Haiti. Please note, all posters will be shipped out early to mid next week.

One amazing movie. From Hong Kong Director Johnnie To, screenplay by Wai Ka-Fai. A French and Hong Kong co-production. French actor Johnny Hallyday , Hong Kong actors Simon Yam , Anthony Wong and other actors, all famous for crime/action movies. Beautiful cinematography and editing. An amazing yet simple idea for the script brings out the idea of vengeance and a series of questions.. is revenge necessary, why hatred.. “Vengeance competed for the prestigious Palme D’Or award at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival” Definitely a must to watch!! Tons of rumors about the “Google Phone”. Finally released earlier in the week, named Nexus One. Runs on Android. Weights around 130 grams, 59.8 mm think and 119 mm tall. Clean design, by HTC. 3.7 inch display, 800 x 480 px (for those of you who are thinking of wallpapers, already..). 5 megapixels camera WITH flash AND video function(, Apple..), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (More specs, click link below). Sleek and simple design to the appearance of the phone, hides the clickable buttons and ports really well, yet fitting all product semiotics. Star Wars x Adidas x MiLK Poker Cards by MiLK

A free gift from the MiLK magazine this week. Simple deck of poker cards filled with essence of Star Wars. Small pips, black backs, air cushioned. The texture and smoothness is almost at the level of Bicycle cards by the US Playing Cards Company. Small pips increased the blank areas on the card, making the graphics stand out more than usual. Replaced the clubs with the Adidas Originals logo, Kings with Darth Vader, Queens with Yoda and Jacks with Stormtroopers. Beautiful use of threshold and black and white on the royal cards. 5 or 6 extra cards featuring the outstandingly designed shoes. Ricoh GXR

Ricoh has recently released their new digital camera. The GXR. This camera is somewhere between a normal Digital Camera and a DSLR. Currently two interchangeable lens, A12 for macro shots and S10 for normal shots. The sensor is contained as part of the lens. Gives 10 and 12.3 megapixels images. (More specs, click link below) The body of the camera is purely for battery, memory card and the screen purpose. GXR has a flash itself but a larger one can be fixed to the hot shoe, as well as a view finder. A tele conversion lens and a wide conversion lens is available to be fixed on. It’s said that other adaptors will be released. Pricing at around $3900 HKD for the Camera Body, $6000 HKD for A12 Macro lens and $3000 HKD for S10 Lens. :Chocoolate is celebrating their 3rd anniversary by launching a crossover campaign with A Bathing Ape. Products include hooded sweaters, zip-up jackets, sweaters in black, gray, white and green, red, blue. Mesh caps in black and white, all printed with the crossover logos. Some products come in a special paint bucket with the logos printed on them as well. Pop up store located in Times Square, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, from the 12th to 17th of January for six days. If you didn’t get the title, it is Fisheye DIY. The following images were took with an Olympus digital camera with a “homemade” fisheye lens. Cheap materials, cost me $40 HKD. $2 for the short length of PVC tube, $18 for the door peephole, $20 for the foam lining. Pretty straight forward, line the PVC tube with the foam tape until the peephole thing fits in just so it doesn’t fall out. Then push the peephole thing inwards so it just hangs before it touch the lens of the camera. Line the other side of the PVC tube with foam tape so it fits on the camera. The only catch is that the flash will not work as well since the “lens” blocks of some light, you’ll see in the photos.. (click image below to see them)

Just to keep the site active and updated, I have tried “30 seconds of inspiration” but that was too annoying and not regular. It is 2010 and it is the International Year of Biodiversity. This wallpaper by myself is mainly constructed by the diagonal pattern of fishbone, skull, tree, the Earth (wasn’t that clear), mushroom, a bug, a paw print, footprint and a feather shows the main idea of Biodiversity. Biodiversity is life, Biodiversity is our life.
